Ladies and gentlemen, what Bush and Quayle have given this country is the worst economic performance since the Great Depression. Unemployment is up. Housing starts are
down. The trade deficit is up. Real incomes are down. Bankruptcies are up. Consumer confidence is down. Everything that should be down is up. Everything that should be up is down. They've got it upside down, and we're going to turn it right side up.

Under Bush and Quayle there are fewer jobs in the private sector today than there were four years ago when they took over. In other words, if George Bush went out to Hollywood and made a movie, he would have to call it, ``Honey, I Shrunk the Economy.''

And you know what? The sequel would have to be, ''Honey, I Blew Up the Deficit,'' because they've doubled it only four years time.

Just one word: "Quayle".
